“Faith is the strength by which a shattered world shall emerge into the light.” Helen Keller
That day rolled around again for me-graduation for my second child. It’s not easier to let another one go, but we are grateful to see our children shining their lights in other parts of the world.
You might notice that our lanterns look a bit Asian. It seems our eyes have taken on an Asian view. From inside this mindset, we shine pieces of traditions and cultures that have become our own.
Shine your own light. Moving to a new place can be awkward and with it comes the desire to fit in. Sometimes, those with a broad worldview just don’t fit. Rather than trying to mold yourself into a shape that doesn’t work, shine a light, however dim, of the real you. Dim lights are attractive. Eventually, you’ll feel strengthened and will be burning brightly!
Stay on the path. There may be times when you doubt the path you have chosen. You may feel all alone and unable to complete what you’ve started. Be encouraged. Remember the light that led you there. Don’t stray away. Stay focused and don’t let your flame get blown out by discouragement.
Hold tight to your faith. God’s light guides without leading astray. When you are down, keep your eyes on God. Faith will see you through. “Why so downcast, oh my soul? Put your hope in God!” A Psalm of David
As you move on, be pleased with who you are becoming. It’s easier to shine your light when you have faith that God planned your past and your future. Your light will be an inspiration to others as well.
What paths are you lighting for others?
