“You find yourself refreshed in the presence of cheerful people. Why not make an honest effort to confer that pleasure on others? Half the battle is gained if you never allow yourself to say anything gloomy.” Lydia M. Child
Yesterday, we were surprised by a kind friend who took the time and effort to lavish us with an appetizing refreshment. We can all take part in refreshing others. An encouraging word, a grateful smile, or the right gift when it counts can all bring refreshment to others.
The sound of a fountain can be refreshing. It’s just the right amount of sound and is gentle on the ears. I find it refreshing to sit in a beautiful place, with kind friends nearby, sipping a cool drink or a warm cup of coffee.
Sounds, smells, and tastes all have an impact on each experience. Refreshment can be a surprise or can be sought out.
“The best way to keep good acts in memory is to refresh them with new.” Cato The Elder

Being with family, enjoying a cool drink, relaxing on a warm day, and meeting God in a new way– all of these bring me refreshment!
